Roxy Tuohy

After a successful career in the Holiday and Residential lettings sector I developed a real passion for all things property especially the finance side. After purchasing my own home, it made me understand the process and helped me realise that this was something where I could add real value. This led to me deciding to take my exams and become a qualified Mortgage Broker

After passing the regulatory exams and training, I realised that on the job training in a real setting was the key. From here I started working within a large mortgage network and here is where the fundamentals of the role, coupled with my want to give a transparent and jargon free client journey, gave me the complete learning I wanted. My desire to become an Independent whole of market broker was always at the front of my mind, so with Hannah, we formed RHFS.

Having a business based on our joint beliefs around customer service has been the key driver and crucial to our ongoing success. As a business based on referrals and recommendations, our independence, transparent client journey and ‘best advice’ principals, mean we are geared for the ongoing changes in the mortgage market.

Away from work, being a Mum has given me a complete sense of fulfilment but to relax I enjoy and have a huge passion for anything to do with horses, even competing both locally and Nationally on the dressage circuit.

Hannah Aktinson

After finishing college, I looked for a profession where I could use the qualifications I had earned. I settled into a role at a large National estate agency chain and enjoyed the role whilst learning all about the property market from both the perspective of the seller and the vendor, and how every transaction could be affected by the simplest of issues.

I’d been a ski and snow board enthusiast from an early age and was given an opportunity to live and work abroad which I gleefully accepted and was an amazing experience and something that really helped me understand further ‘The client journey’, as holidays can mean so much to people.

I had an open option to join an insurance firm and took it on the proviso I became a Mortgage Broker with them, and after gaining the qualifications in my own time, I then looked to take on the role. Working within one of North Yorkshires leading Estate Agents had its challenges but, it was great learning. Their prime goal was the house sale, which at times meant their priority was not aligned with the clients I was working on behalf of! Being truly Independent was key to my decision to setting up on my own. I had met Roxy several times and realised we shared the same drive, commitment, and
integrity , and so we formed – we both adhere to the core principals that run through the business and remind our clients that its our JOB to get you the mortgage, we are OBLIGED  to find out everything about you, to give you the best possible advice, but its our DUTY to make sure, whatever happens, you and your dependents can stay in the home.

I am the proud Mum to two gorgeous little girls and to relax, I horse ride and enjoy a fantastic family life.

Lisa Aston

I began my career working in the financial services industry just after leaving college. I started with Yorkshire Bank as a cashier before moving to Halifax as a banking adviser, it is here that I developed my interest in mortgages.

I then left the world of Banking and moved into property, taking a role at an estate agent to help further my knowledge of the house buying process. I did so alongside sitting my exams to become a qualified mortgage adviser.

I get a great deal of job satisfaction from helping clients with all their housing needs. So whether you’re buying your first home, looking to move or remortgage I can help. All whilst ensuring you have adequate cover in place to protect you home and family.

In my spare time I enjoy travelling, cooking, beach walks with my dog and playing golf.

KERRY SHAW

My career in financial services began over 20 years ago, not by design, but through an opportunity that arose at Halifax through a friend. Initially, I joined as a Customer Service Consultant, however I was soon invited to join their Mortgage Team and pursue my CeMAP qualification. This ignited my passion for mortgages, particularly how I can help to transform people’s lives.

After a decade of industry experience, I ventured into other opportunities within the financial services sector. However, the desire to help and guide individuals through the rocky road of mortgages was always there. I’m thrilled to be back, eager to share my extensive knowledge and expertise with new clients.

Outside of work, I cherish spending time with my family: my husband, three grown children, and our precious granddaughter. Travel, exploring new destinations and walking my crazy dog are also my passions.

During his spare time he enjoys hiking, pub quizzes and is a season ticket holder at Burnley Football Club

Angela Shipley

Angela Shipley is the Customer Completions Manager at RH Financial Services, bringing with her a wealth of experience from a lifelong career in the property industry, including the building trade and estate agencies.

After a recent role at a golf club, Angela is excited to return to the property sector and is looking forward to helping customers through their house buying and remortgage journeys at RHFS.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, dogs, and horses, and loves traveling to France on holidays with her husband.
